Born and raised in Delaware, Lexi graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2015. There, she competed for the UMBC Women's Swim and Dive team, earned a dual degree in Spanish and photography and minored in journalism and biology.

While in college, she worked for NPR Baltimore, the local Rehoboth Beach, Delaware newspaper, the Cape Gazette, and fine art photographer Angie Moon. She later moved on to freelance for the Delaware State News.

Lexi now lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband, Jordan, and their two dogs and cat. She works full-time as a community editor with Starnes Publishing, which creates seven monthly community newspapers in the Birmingham area, although she mainly covers the city of Mountain Brook. She also works with the USA Wheelchair Rugby Team as a photographer pursuing the creation of a long-term documentary photography project.

During her free time, she can be found introducing herself to new and challenging sports, spending time with her family or working in the outdoors as an adventure guide.
